In todays fast paced world we are always looking ways to cut time and take shortcuts, that same theory applies to when it comes to beauty and cosmetic procedures, that is where injectables and dermal fillers excel. Who has time for a full face lift with lots of down time ? not me! Basically dermal fillers are a non surgical option to tighten, fill ,diminish fine lines and wrinkles safely and effectively with instant results! Injectables are like a lunch time face lift! At Blair Med Spa we offer Juvererderm Ultra , Vollbella , Voluma and Botox.

What is Injectable Treatment ?

In a nutshell, injectables are chemical substances inserted into the skin with a needle that support muscles or plump up the skin, lessening the appearance of wrinkles. The two main types of injectables are Botulinum Toxin (usually referred to as Botox) and Dermal Fillers (often using collagen or one’s own body fat). Let’s break it down.

-Botulinum toxin (Type A) is a cosmetic injection that blocks the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This effect relaxes and smooths the look of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements on the face—most commonly, between the brows, crows-feet around the eyes, and horizontal forehead creases.

-Fillers are a type of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine used to add volume, alter the contours of the face, and fill in wrinkles. Common areas to inject fillers are in the face, neck, and hands, resulting in a fuller, smoother and more youthful appearance.

What is Juvederm Volbella? LIPS ONLY

Volbella is a dermal filler used to define lips and for the correction of fine wrinkles around the lips. This temporary filler is made of Hyaluronic Acid and does not require a skin test before your injections. The smaller Hylauronic Acid particle size in Volbella allows your cosmetic injector to treat fine lines without getting a full look in these delicate areas.

-Injectables help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. … Soften facial creases and wrinkles.
Some of the most common are hyaluronic acid fillers. Juvederm Voluma has been clinically proven to last up to two years.

-Getting Botox takes only a few minutes and no anesthesia is required. Botox is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften.
It is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines.

-Botox generally begins to show results after around 3-5 days, and there are rarely any side effects from it. Fillers, on the other hand, may take up to a week for potential swelling or bruising to subside, and a full 2 weeks for the filler to integrate into your tissue. There are steps you can take to minimize the risk of bruising, and some areas are more prone to swelling and/or bruising than others. I would recommend leaving yourself at least a week before any big events or vacation plans to ensure you look as good as possible.

Some patience report that being injected with Botox feels like a pinch. your provider may use ice to numb the treatment area. if your concerned about discomfort your provider may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.
Treatment take approximately 10 – 15 min and requires minimal down time – its often called lunchtime procedure.
